an 18th century wax seal stamp
with a confusing coat of arms
we think it might have belonged to a person with relationship to two families
Drooglever and De Bie
also written as or changed into
Droogleever, Drooglever Fortuyn, De Bije
the coat of arms we see here:
in silver an embattled black / sable fess
with on it a lion passant, between seven bees (4 and 3)
we found two occassions where the two families are mentioned together:
in 1739, the marriage of Paulus GerritZn Drooglever & Petronella De Bie,
see: Parenteel van Ambrosius De Bije, go to no.159 to find them and their children
and
in 1770, the built of Het Hofje Van Mevrouw Van Aarden / Aerden
in Leerdam, The Netherlands
Hofjes or Almshouses in Holland were managed by a board of members called Regenten,
Paulus Drooglever and Huibert De Bie were Regenten of that hofje,
their coat of arms are present in the building since 1770-1772
