Unknown: from a coat of arms with a tree and a sun or aureole, to Ovidius and Shakespeare

this coat of arms is in the Baroque style,
for the 17th and early 18th century

on the oval shield we see: in argent - silver a tree fructed,
a tree in full leaf,
with a magnifier we can see it's
bearing three round fruits, each with a cross,
above the tree is a female, she has breasts,
she is surrounded with rays of light;
a nimbus, mandorla or aureole,
above the shield is a crown with nine pearls,
and beneath the shield a skull

the crosses, one vertical and one horizontal line, on the fruits is the
heraldic hatching for the colour sable / black,
a tree with black fruit is a mulberry tree.

I did not find a coat of arms or crest like this...

And that's when my fantasy is allowed to take over:

a lady is glorius, but dead,
a skull on the ground, meaning an other person died,
all happening near a mulberry tree.

That brings me to Ovid.
Publius Ovidius Naso wrote in 43 BC, his
Metamorphoses IV:55-166, the story of Pyramus and Thisbe.

"and you, tree who now covers a single miserable corpse and soon will cover two, retain the memory of our deaths and always bear fruit dark with the colors of mourning, the markins of our mingled blood"

In 1595, William Shakespeare was inspired by Ovid's couple and wrote
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
and in 1600, A Midsummer Night's Dream.
"and Thisby, tarrying in mulberry shade, his dagger drew and died"

In 1957, Arthur Laurents, Stephen Soundheim and Leonard Bernstein
created the West Side Story with Maria and Tony, with a same, sad ending:

"... make our lives one life, day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start: one hand, one heart.
Even death won't part us now...
When love comes so strong, there is no right or wrong...
